So far (day 3) this product looks and feels ultra sturdy. Better than those dinky seagate drives. I didn't realize it had an older FAT32 file system, which limits a file size to 4gb. If you can use NTFS, which does not limit file size, you can convert the drive from one file system to another. I think Macs can't write to NTFS, but PCs can.
You can find instructions on how to convert from FAT32 to NTFS on google. Amazon won't let me post link here.
If prompted for the volume name, you can find that in the hard drive properties - mine said 'transcend'
Worked perfectly and now I can use the hard drive to store large files (>4 gb).
I also didn't realize it requires 2 usb connection. Bummer.

Needing an external hard drive, but having little working knowledge of these devices, I called my computer guru sister who recommended this particular external hard drive.
First: price was very competitive
Second: arrival was very quick
Third: instructions were good, I actually thought that I would have to call the guru sister to install the device, however I was able to do it on my own. Very easy
This device met all my requirements in that I can download all my info and have lots of room to spare(for me probably be years!); it is very durable. I travel and take it with me. It fits easily in my laptop case or purse; I actually dropped it on the concrete outside of the mall, no damage to either the case or the stored info!
I am so impressed that I will be ordering several more for christmas gifts.
I am very pleased with this purchase. Amazon is fast becoming my favorite place to shop, the promptness of delivery is consistant!

Works great and the price was right. Although it appeared to back up all my folders on my "work" computer, all the files were encrypted so nothing was really saved. Let that be a lesson to all to check your folders and files. I lost 15 years of pictures!
